Prices for Blu-ray players have dropped substantially in recent times, making it possible to snag a quality unit like the Sony BDP-S380 for under $150. The S380 is the follow-up to the hugely successful S370, and offers up solid, no-frills performance at an entirely reasonable price. While the S380 doesn't offer integrated Wi-Fi or 3D capability like some of Sony's pricier offerings, the Blu-ray high definition video and audio quality is outstanding. Blu-ray movies load up quickly, and navigation speeds leave little to be desired. Connecting the S380 to the internet is possible using the Ethernet port, and opens up the Bravia Internet Video portal which should be instantly familiar to users of other Sony multimedia products. The USB port can be used to connect a Wi-Fi adapter or a storage unit - connecting the latter allows you to access your media through the player itself. The Sony BDP-S380 is easily one of the better budget-friendly Blu-ray player options considering its high performance and ease of use.
